Iodum

Seaweed, cod liver oil, bluish black in colour, acrid taste, caustic. Relationship between: iodine and thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism. Cretinism. Proved by SH (chronic diseases Vol 1)

Affinities: glands, thyroid, testes, breasts, lymphatic glands, heart, blood vessels, mucous membranes especially the lungs, larynx. The skin, the nerves and connective tissues.

Causation: Anger, fright, disappointment love, sexual excesses, mental shock, mental work, and quinine treatment for malaria, abuse of mercury.

Appearance: Dark haired and dark complexion. Great affinity for the glands especially the thyroid gland. The remedy causes the glands to enlarge and the body to emaciate. Chronic hyperthyroid. Symptoms: eyes bulge, tremor, goitre, very skinny, fast metabolism, and hot and hot flushes, sweating, irritable. Graves Disease.

Patients who have had radio active iodine activity to their thyroid and they are coming to you for treatment (hyper). You can’t go near kids for one month. Calc Id is the main remedy for thyroid cysts and tumours. Combustion burning up without control. The patient will burn up and there is too much energy and they can’t control it. Combustion on all three levels (M/E/P). Too many ideas rapidly entering their minds. They want to execute them at the same time.

Because they want to do too much they forget what they have just done. They are constantly busy but not in an organised way. They are forgetful of purchases. They feel constantly they have forgotten something. Check stoves, lights (Causticum from bad remedy). Because they did not concentrate as they have so many ideas.

GV like they have a machine inside. If they don’t feed it, nothing else will be happy in the body.

Hyperactive children with swollen glands. If you don’t feed them they will run around like crazy until you feed them. Find out if it is worms or the metabolism. If you have worms you should not eat bread or sugar. You should eat pumpkin seeds washed down with mango juice. Or sit over a bucket of warm milk.

Hunger is canine. They crave meat and alcohol. Eat so fast they choke. Warm blooded (Iod, Sulph, Puls, Arg Nit, Lach, Brom, Cham, Apis, Secale.)
Better for fresh air, always too hot, want a cool place. Worse for becoming heated. Better morning and on exertion. Restlessness, worse from sitting still. Hypertrophy of all the glands - Swelling. Except the breasts that dwindle. Don’t think of this remedy if patient is cold. One breast larger than the other one. One breast stops growing and there is atrophy.

SRP - whole body withers and the glands enlarge. Thyroid gland enlarged and painful swelling of glands. Swelling to testes, ovaries, prostrate. Old cases of malaria when quinine was used. Lymphatic glands swell. Acute and chronic diseases of the pancreas. Pancreatic cancer is very fast moving.

Celiac disease when the child emaciates with enlarged abdominal glands (mesenteric). Tendency to diarrhoea with a fatty, frothy white stool.

Violent palpitations from walking slightly. Hot acrid discharges and burning especially foot sweat and leucorrhea. Leucorrhea eats holes in their linen and burns their thighs. Discharge from eyes burns cheeks. Pulsation throughout the body. Nail biters. Gouty constitution (take them off port, red wine, meat, shell fish).

Joint pains are < for warmth of bed. > Want a cold room and fresh air.

Deforming arthritis. A remedy for croup. A back up for Spongia. Aconite comes on suddenly around midnight, Spongia around - 3/4am. Hepar Sulph the following day. Face is pale and cold. Keynote: grab throat. If Spongia has not worked. Feeling of feather tickling in larynx. Choking cough. Shrill and whistling and sawing. They can have a hissing respiration. It follows after closely after Aconite. If patient is not improving or relieved only the restlessness, anxiety but not the cough.

Children are hyperactive but they can’t be quite. Children can’t even be quite when they are eating. Running around. Ravenous appetite. If you punish them or suppress them there can be a volcanic eruption. Violent with parents, hitting them. It is impossible to restrain their violent energy. Child might be on medication. Restless sleep and failure to thrive.

Modalities:

• Heat, warm room, warm air, warm wraps, exertion, ascending, talking, fasting, night, wet weather, rest, lying, touch, pressure, wrapping up the head.
• Cold air, cold bathing, motion, eating, after eating, sitting up.
• Differentiate with Sulphuric Acid and Tarentula.

Bromium

Another member of the halogen group. A brown, fuming liquid. Evil stench when vaporised. Pungent brown gas. Found in seawater and in seaweed with Iodine. If you over dose or get poisoned by it, it has an irritating effect on mucosa of respiratory tract causing laryngeal spasms. Strong affinity for lymphatic glands and respiratory tracts. It is found in the thyroid in small amounts and in acne pustules. (Kali Brom, acne in teenagers, main remedy.)

Affinities: Larynx, respiratory tract, and glands.

Warm blooded, worse heat, complaints come on from being over heated.
They can come on in summer. They are worse for hot, damp weather.

Keynote: Better at the seashore. A lot of difficult breathing in the picture. Air passages feel full of smoke. Air breathed in feels cold as if coming from ice. A lot of mucous but nothing expectorated.

Colds start in the larynx and go upwards (Merc and Sepia.) Hoarseness from being over heated and tickling cough from being over heated. Croup. Danger from suffocating from the mucus in the larynx (mucus in chest in Ant Tart). Spasmodic affections of the larynx. Drive spasmodic croup cough with a red face and hoarseness. Gasping for breath and wheezing. Child wakes gasping and cries for water, which ameliorates.

They want to be carried. Fan like motion of alae nasi (Carbo Veg, Lyc, and Ant-t). Sounds like they are breathing through a sponge. Cough is wheezing and rattling. Worse for swallowing, dust. Irritation in the larynx.

Keynote: Worse for dust. Hayfever from dust with irritation of the dose and larynx. From handling old books on the shelf.

Tubercular remedy. TB of the right lung. Stomach ulcers. Diarrhoea from oysters. Headaches from milk. They crave oysters and chocolate and onions and sour things. Averse tobacco, onions and sweets. They can have black stools (check them out). Swelling of testes from suppressed gonorrhea.
Hardening of the left testicle or left ovary. Flatus from the vagina (Tarentula, Platina, Lyc, Phos-ac).

They yawn frequently and they acne with a feeling of a cobweb on their face (Graphites.)

Feelings of guilt. Delusion someone is behind him. Delusion another person in the room. Delusion a stranger looking over her shoulder. Delusion, sees phantoms. Fear of being alone. Fear of the dark; fear someone is behind them. Fear of imaginary things. They bite their nails. They try to make up for the feeling of guilt by working hard. Industrious. • Seashore, motion, riding on horseback, nose bleeds, shaving.

Mercury Sol/Viv

• Night, impulse to kill with a knife, salivation at night, grinding teeth, sweating, smelly breath, receding gums, black teeth in children, ulcers, syphilitic, trembling, good remedy for AIDS (late stages), averse meet, closed, stammer, like bread and butter, hurried and impulse, issue around communication, quicksilver.

Mercurius Corrosivus

Mercurius Chloride (HgCl2). It is a salt. It occurs in the form of a heavy transparent glistening colourless rhombic (four-sided rectangle at an angle) prism. Acrid, disagreeable metallic taste. When swallowed it produces the sense of constriction, almost suffocation. When burning in the throat.

Affinities: rectum, bladder, eyes, throat, uvula, fauces, pallet, kidneys, flat bones.

Take all the mercury symptoms and turn them up 100%. A more intense mercury. Intense internal bleeding. Violent effects and ulcerative tendency which is spreading rapidly. And neurological symptoms. Keyword is tenesmus (ineffective urging). Ulcers of the mucous membranes especially phagagenic ulcers (that spread and eat away with corroding acrid pus).

Ulcers in mouth that eat away the jaw. Abscess on tonsils, pusy crypts. Breath smells yucky. All mercerise have metallic taste. Intense burning in throat. Throat is so swollen in prevents swallowing and threatens suffocation. Any attempt to swallow liquids and solids they get a spasm in their throat and it is ejected.

Bladder infections. It mimics Cantharis. Severe tenesmus of the bladder. Burning and urging. Hot scolding urine. Painful urine past drop-by-drop. Strong need for urination not relieved by passing.

Keynote: urine passes drop by drop with much pain.

Toxaemia in pregnancy (Apis, Kali-chlor, secuta). Same symptoms in the rectum. Severe tenesmus (straining). No 1 remedy for dysentery. Most terrible, persistent continuous tenesmus before, during and after stool. Tenesmus not better for passing stool. Green, offensive stool with shreds of tissue and shreds of mucus. Passing blood in large quantities. 20 - 30 stools per day and the anus gets raw. No 1 remedy for ulcerative colitis. Still have one more lump to get out. Bad, bad dysentery. Not in a good place.

Lots of eye stuff. Lack of vital heat. Goose flesh (horipilation.) Chills, shuddering. Goose flesh in air-conditioned rooms. Salivation with salty taste or very bitter. Lips are swollen and tend to bleed easily. Depressed. Low-spirited. Crave cold water. They don’t like hot food. Intense burning pains. Burning like hot coals.

Ulcerative colitis, cystitis, Crohn’s, dysentery, tonsillitis.

Modalities:

• After urinating, after stool, after swallowing, evening, night, hot days and cold nights, cold, autumn, open air, fats, acids, motion, coition, pressure.
• At rest, warmth, warm applications.

Merc Iod Flavus and Merc Iod Ruber

Both back up the general mercury for sore throat. Ruber is left sided and Flavus is right sided.

Merc Proto Iod (Flavus)

Yellow iodine of mercury. Mixture of Iodine and Mercury. It is an anti-psoric and anti-syphilitic. Affinities: throat, glands, right to left. Throat disorders with swollen glands. < Warm drinks, > cold drinks. Lyc is better warm drinks.

Tonsillitis right to left, offensive mouth and salivation. Keynote is thick yellow coating at base of tongue. Delusion there is a man in her room intending to perforate her throat with a gimlet (sharp round pointed thing.) Iodine side - sudden great violent danger of being betrayed.

Sankaran: a feeling he is going to be murdered in a sudden attack. Violent impulses to kill.

Iodine - extremely energetic desire to travel and need to be occupied. Swollen glands especially the cervical and parotid glands (mumps). Inguinal glands. Deep bone pains at night. They crave ice, salt and sour. They are worse warm room, warm bed, warm drinks. Used as an acute for sore throats.

Modalities:

• Warm room, warm bed, warm drinks, draught of air, cold damp weather, spring, night, rest, lying on left side.
• Open air and lying on the right and motion.

Merc Bin Iod (Ruber)

Throat, larynx, tonsils, lymph glands, left sided and it is a left to right remedy.
Sore throat, worse empty swallowing, left sided, < swallowing liquids and solids. Great swelling. Ulcerated throat. Main remedy even before Lachesis before left sided tonsillitis and left to right. Lots of phlegm in the nose and throat and a lump in the throat. Stiffness of muscles in throat and neck (Phytolacca). Profuse salivation, offensive smell. Eustachian tube closed. Left sided earaches. Chronic suppurating bubo - lymphatic gland in the groin.

Modalities:

  Touch, pressure, swallowing empty, liquid, food, night, cold air, getting wet.

  Cinnabaris

Merc and Sulph. Red sulphide. Deposits in Spain and Italy. Beautiful fiery red crystal. Most famous medicine in Chinese medicine. The field of immortality. If you take this remedy you are meant to become immortal. Take a pinch for several years and it restores the body. Lots of emperors of China from over dosing.

Affinities: skin, rectum, genitalia, naso-pharynx.

Picture looks like Thuja. Combination of syphilis and sycosis. Grafting of a sycotic history onto a syphilitic base. AIDS case with bleeding warts and herpes. It is a combination of gonorrhea warts and discharges and ulcers.
Good back up remedy for genital warts (Thuja, Sabina, Cinnabaris, Nitric Acid). Warts bleed and they are fan shaped. Bleed when touched. Pus under foreskin. Anal warts that burn and bleed and are sensitive to touch. Long standing GC with yellow green discharge and much pain on the flow of urine. Lots of inflammation on the frontal sinuses. Pressure at the root of the nose. Syphilis in all its stages. Suppurating glands. Fiery red ulcers. Ulcers of the penis. Violent pains in their head. Better heat, better pressure. Chilly, lazy, fullness in head after mental labour. Metallic taste, salivation etc etc.

Merc Dulcis

Mercury for the ear remedy. Eustachian tube, and catarrh. Saves children from grommets. For deafness from the elderly. Dark putrid saliva - lots of. Ear drums retracted, thickened. Most affinity for thrush. Warts around the anus. Pallor - pale as a corpse. Flabby bloatedness. Acrid green grass diarrhoea of infants like chopped eggs (Mag-Carb, Ipecac, and Cham).
Acute prostratitis after badly treated GC.
